Last episode cliffhanger: we saw Katherine being locked up by Damon on the ruins of the chapel. Katherine beg Damon to free her because Elena is in trouble and the only one who can help Elena is her. Meanwhile, Elena was kidnapped by a mysterious person. Is Katherine telling the truth now or kidnapping Elena is just one of her plans.
In the Episode 8 of Vampire Diaries: Stefan and Damon come to Elena’s assistance and, in the process, learn surprising new information about people, vampires and events in the distant past. Jeremy helps Bonnie after she casts a difficult and exhausting spell, and Caroline (Candice Accola) does what she can to make things easier for Tyler. Finally, Stefan and Damon reach a new understanding.

The Vampire Diaries follows the life of Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev), who falls for the century-old vampire named Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley). Their lives grow more and more complicated as Stefan's vicious brother Damon (Ian Somerhalder) returns to town with a vendetta against his brother. The series is set in the fictional town of Mystic Falls, Virginia, a town charged with supernatural history. Other storylines revolve around the other inhabitants of the town, most notably Elena's younger brother Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen), Elena's friend Bonnie Bennett (Katerina Graham), who discovers that she is a witch, and their insecure friend Caroline Forbes (Candice Accola).
